Fast forward to 2020 and like many people during the COVID-19 pandemic I had time on my hands so I went out and bought a Behmor 2020 home roaster and spent a couple of months smoking my house out, roasting anything and everything I could lay my hands on. I gave a few bags to friends who very politely said the coffee was drinkable and whilst out with my son on one of our many ‘lockdown’ walks he said to me: “Dad, you should sell your coffee, people really like it.” I said I hadn’t really thought about that and he just came out with “and call it Deveroast” which is a play on our surname, Devereux! 

Not a bad suggestion for a then 12-year-old, so with that idea in hand and the help, support and encouragement from my fiancé Kelly I set about turning this idea into something tangible.
